Expat magazine survey - please help

I'm conducting a really short little survey about expats in India, for a project I'm doing, and was wondering if you could all take a moment to help me out by responding. Your answers will be anonymous, of course (although the questions are not racy enough for anonymity to matter!).

Here's the link: http://FreeOnlineSurveys.com/renders... gpjl7m406806

PS I hope this is not considered SPAM as it's for research, not advertising, but if it is, I'm very very sorry!

With questions like these, I wonder what kind of "project" this survey is for.. acadamic?

Quote:
*6) Do you subscribe to any magazines or do buy magazines at least once per month?

7) Where do you generally purchase magazines? (tick all that apply)

8) Would you buy a monthly magazine tailored to expats?

9) Please rank the following types of stories that you would find useful for an expat living in India, with 1 being most the most useful

10) What other types of content would you find useful or interesting in an expat magazine?

LOL Crv, well-caught

Margot, if you intend to start an expat magazine, would you please have the courtesy to be up-front about it at least? This thread could then be moved to Classifieds, where it would probably fit in just fine.

My thought, too. Certainly smacks of being a "marketing" survey.

Hey really sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or. If you don't want to respond, that's fine, and no it's not for an academic project, it is for a magazine project, and I was not trying to mislead you about that. Please don't be so hostile!

Regards,

Regards,
Hostile? This is apparently a commercial project. Did you read the Forum Rules before posting? Specifically these parts:

Links to commercial websites are allowed, if it is a legitimate reply to a question, and as long as you have no affiliation with the website. Any violation of this rule will result in a permanent ban with no warnings.

Nobody was thinking of banning Margot, although the post had caught our eye.

It might have been deleted, as being commercially related, but was tucked away here instead. If it came from a new member, we would have deleted it.

Your openness in post 6 is appreciated. Please understand that the moderators wage an ongoing war with commercialism, mostly the travel trade. The fact that you don't see it too often is, I suppose, a measure of our success.

"The Onlooker" was a sort of an expat Raj period magazine(published in Bombay I believe) from the 1930's &'40's that was very well done. It was chockers full of social events, tiger hunts, sporting meets & other interesting activities - plus tons of cool period advertising. If anyone ever comes across an old copy for sale sometime - do grab it and have a fun read!

Must look out for the 'Onlooker' Peak. It sounds a very interesting history piece. I used to look at mags here - Femina type, but now I find them boring and superficial. Sooner read a good book. Occasionally I buy India Today for the train or waiting in a dentist kind of thing (mags there are non-existent or out of date).
Have to agree with you crvlvr - the computer is taking over my day - newspaper, mags all online!
