India has a population of 1.6 billion people.

More than one third of those could never dream of being able to afford a camera.

Still leaves a lot of people....

Even though this question is totally silly since you don't say where in India you will even be, that said, there is a very old (1905) photography studio called Kinsey Brothers in Connaught Circle, New Delhi. Many years ago I had some visa photos taken there. They might be a good start. They helped a friend of mine find out where to have an old fashioned box portrait camera custom made (old Delhi)--also a long time ago. But they are still there.
