Raipur : Any recommendations?

Hi,

I would be in Raipur in mid May for 4-5 days. Guess it would be quite hot by then. Any recommendations in & around Raipur to make those days worthwhile? I would like to experience tribal culture / Historical sites.

Any good budget hotel recommendations?

I must go to Raipur next October on my way to Jagdalpur and it seems the city has no interest at all.

You can visit Kawardha (around 100 km north of Raipur)and the temples of Bhoramdeo, almost al vilages are tribal villages in the area.

Rajim 60 km southeast of Raipur is an interesting site (pilgrimage place) called the Varanasi of Chhattisgarh, not far Champaram is also interesting.

Turturiya and Sirpur 80 km east of Raipur are also recommended places.
