Travel Chennai-Pondicherry-Kannakumari-Rameshswaram-Madurai-Chennai-Tirupati-Chennai

I am planning to travel in October and try to cover the route by 12 days. I would request you to give me the best itinerary with 12 days. How could I book online Tamil Nadu State Buses from Chennai to Pondicherry?

Howrah - Tirupati train 2863 all days
Tirupati - Chennai train 6054/6058 all days
Chennai - Pondicherry train 103SR all days /2898 on Wed /6115 on all days or bus
Pondicherry - Villuparam bus
Villuparam - Rameshwaram train 6101/6713 all days
Rameshwaram - Madurai train 6733 on Fri 752SR / 754SR / 756SR on all days
Madurai - Kanyakumari train 2633/384SR/6123/6217/6610/727 on all days
Kanyakumari - Howrah train 2666

Train number having SR is passenger trains 2nd seating no reservations

As far as I Know TNSTC buses cannot be booked online. You have to book at their designated booking counters.

Hi All,

My earlier planning to visit Tamail Nadu has been postponed on October. I have booked a ticket to reach Chennai on 28/12 morning. We directly go to Pondicherry by bus and next day will take train to reach Kanynakumari.
I would like your advice how should I plan to visit Trivendrum-Alleppey-Cochin-Madurai within 4 days time.

I m going to chennai,rameswaram,madurai in oct 2011(4 to 10 oct. during this time Dushera/navratri also falls.Do i need to book hotels in advance on these locations?Please suggest some hotels in range of 1000-1500 for AC double room.Whole family (total 11 members) is on tour with me so I m worried much abt arragements.Plz suggest some hotels also .Hotels who have 24 hr check in check out will be given preference as i m reaching chennai at around 2:00 AM

As far as South is concerned, Dushra is celerabated in normal way. You need not to fear about rush. In chennai you will get lot of accommodation to the range quoted by you. Regarding Madurai, ( I am from Madurai ) again here you need not to worry. Opposite to Railway station and Bus stand lot of hotels are available. Excellent food at Madurai (Specialist for Iddly and Dosa). Regarding Rameswaram, here also no problem in accommodation. Regarding 24 hrs. check in, in my opinion, now a days, no hotel is offering this facility.
