Tickets for ATP tennis tournament

Hi,

could anyone help me in getting tickets for ATP tennis tournament in Chennai? I would need 2 tickets for Saturday and 5 tickets for Sunday. Organizers are saying Saturday and Sunday are already now sold-out.

I live in Delhi and will be arriving in Chennai on Saturday. I am ready to pay some premium on top of the official price for the tickets.

Please contact me with private message if you can sell me the tickets. Thanks.

Wow! leaving it a little late for a tournament with Nadal.

I'd call the SDAT (event stadium) and speak to the ticket manager - where there is a will there is a way in India. Or call some of the sponsors of the event - they always have some extra tickts floating around for the weekend. Good luck!

I met a press reporter who tells me that tickets are available at venue.

Actually I was trying not to leave it too late, I have been bombarding the contact email given at tournament homepages since November without any answers.

When I asked from my hotel in Chennai to organize tickets they told me to contact them when I arrive on Saturday 6th and they also told me tickets would be available only in January. Then I asked them to get the tickets as soon as they become available - which did not happen.

Finally with some good luck with Google I managed to find a contact number on Tuesday (on Monday I was flying from Europe) and was promptly told from that contact number that tournament is sold out Sat and Sun.

I guess the best way to get the tickets now is to go outside the stadium on Sat and use the black market for whatever it will cost...

Yeah, I've negotiated alot of tickets from "scalpers" and my advice is not to be to to anxious to get into the venue .... as soon as the match starts and the black market people are holding on to tickets that they "need" to sell - then "you" begin to hold the upper hand and thus the cheaper it all becomes(who cares if you miss the first few games).

Afterall, It's just a big game of cat and mouse and patience!!

Don't forget to give us a summary of the matches - if and when you turn the turnstiles!

Nadal should survive the Madras heat and come out on top.

Enjoy!

Well, I managed to get tickets both for semis and finals in decent price - 2+2 tickets for 1500 rupees in total. Of course the original value for those was only 400 rupees. I did not dare to leave it late, I bought all the tickets already on Sat afternoon at 3 pm (matches start at 5 pm).

Considering the total cost of flights Delhi-Chennai-Delhi for 2 persons and 2 nights at 5* hotel those 1500 rupees were not totally wasted.

Regarding matches Malisse-Nadal was truly wonderful match with great excitement, it made the trip surely worthwhile. On the other hand the two other singles matches were both over in roughly one hour each without any real excitement nor great playing. And final was a real disappoitment, winner was obvious already after a couple of games.

But I will definitely go again if I have a chance. And next time I try to get tickets officially even though it seems to be an impossible task.

Glad to hear you made it to the matches Tirmu. Looks like Koubek folded like a cheap suitcase in the final ,,,, and you also saw something very rare ..... Nadal actually loose a match.
