The BEST Gym in Chennai
Hello all,
Having recently returned to Chennai, I am on the hunt for a decent gym to join. I previously joined Golds Gym in Alwarpet, but found it rediculously busy at peak times, and even at off peak times I found myself hanging around just so I could complete my intended session. I recently checked out the gym at the Park Hotel. While there wasn't much equipment, the spa facilities (steam, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool, treatment and relaxation rooms) were excellent. An excellent price to go with it too, that would perhaps be justified given more exercise equipment. I hate waiting in the middle of a workout! Your thoughts are appreciated. D |

Might be a bit late, but a reaction nonetheless. I used to go swimming at GRT hotel in T.Nagar. They also have a gym, which is very quiet. Dont know much about it, so it might not be up to your standard.... Membership costs Rs. 2000 a month.
And Gymkhana is a fancy social club where you must have exclusive membership, not an actual gym (even though they might also have a fitness centre....):-) |

There is a Gold's Gym in Madras. Saw it just the other day. But I am sorry to say I can't tell you where I saw it. There may be more than one location also.

I don't know where you are based but "Soldiers Gym" has a number of branches. I used to train at the one in Triplicane and they also have one on Anna Salai, a 15/20 minute walk past Spencer Plaza heading south. Probaby not the best gym, but it has plenty of free weights. However, like many gyms in India, it is closed beteween 9.30am and 4.00pm.

Good gym near Royapettah / Mylapore / Alwarpet ( Chennai )
There is one gym that has come up recently in Royapettah chennai , Rays Fit stop which is airconditioned gym with personal trainers , good equipment, good music system, sauna . This is opposite to Reliance super market. Good ambience and very decent prices.
