Terrible Service

Just had to mention that we bought some nice furniture at a pretty price at the Stanley Boutique and have had many problems with it! Getting them to fix it has been a nightmare. I have had one chair for almost 3 months and it is still not fixed yet, now they want to take it to Bangalore and who knows how long that will take. Just a word of advice...customer service is absolutely terrible!

Oh .

They are supposed to be the best for leather car-seat covers!

So much for the pricey Nungambakam boutique, then. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I'm tempted to ask how much can go wrong with a chair, and how hard it can be to fix, and why if anything is wrong with an expensive chair they shouldn't just replace it?

If you want to tell... I'm listening!

If I where you this is what I would have done, ask for a replacement immediately if they refused, and if you paid through your credit card then I will just call them and dispute the charge and let the store know that you are not coming back to pickup your chair since you have disputed the charge, I always say this to people who complain about customer service in USA, you don’t know what you are getting unless you leave USA you don’t know the meaning of customer service.

Unfortunately there are many Chennai businesses that don't know the meaning of customer service --- they would have one hell of a shock if they moved to USA, or Europe!

Oh you are so right about customer service. Let's just say yesterday was a bad india day! From our pool turning green and them saying it is normal to Stanley boutique! Well, my husband did research and dumped loads of chlorine it even though everyone else said no and Stanley boutique picked up my chair to take to the factory in Bangalore...

The chair was a Lazyboy and squeaked terribly! They came out 2 times and hammered it a bit and said it is fixed and guaranteed it and well it is not fixed. I called the US lazyboy and they said that taking to the factory to get it worked on was indeed and option. Get this though, they say we will have it back by Monday..HA, HA, ROFL!!! Okay, thanks for letting me vent a bit, I mean a lot!

We also bought a couch and a loveseat from Stanley so we did spend come major rupees there!

I will mention the quote of quotes from my year-long building suffering: "But you didn't tell me you wanted the job done properly."

This the time you leave your self-control aside and start spewing out words in the local language (hope you learnt a few words after residing for so long in Chennai) that will make his head spin, seriously sometimes being good will not get what you want.

It didn't. Lesson learnt for the next time.

Mrs N wants to build our second storey, which we always planned for our small house. Seriously, I can't face doing it!

Should I mention that they did bring the chair back with a scratch that wasn't there when it left the house. You are so right, there is no such thing as customer service here! I am starting the whole dispute process....
