Swimming pool?

Hi all,

I really miss a good swim nowadays (but not in the Bay) - can you recommend me a good swimming pool in town? I've seen one in Sheraton but not sure about availability for non-guests (and the price of course).
Any other options around? Heard about New Woodlands... good or bad experiences?

Thanks a lot!

New Woodlands is a nice veggie hotel (so no meat in the pool...) with a reasonable restaurant. You could drop by for a bite to eat and check out the pool.

I had dinner at the rooftop restaurant of the Raintree Hotel last week. There's a pool right behind it, and i have to say it looked awesome.

New Woodlands pool is kinda basic and not too appealing to me. If you're a woman I'd say not to go there, it always seems to be full of guys.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi,

Yep, you can use the Sheraton pool, but they charge you approx Rs550 for the priviledge - ouch!

I think Fitness One in Kilpauk has opened a new pool - might be an option depending on where you are.

The Raintree is nice but a bit small for laps - you get dizzy from so many tumble turns!

Pool

Thank you all!
I'm in Nungambakkam, but I think a short auto drive even in big traffic cannot be an obstacle for a good swim

I'm in Nungambakkam --- then you must be posh

I'm in Nungambakkam --- and have at least two (?) five star hotels almost on your doorstep?

Yeah, I wish...
The office is here and I'm just camping in one of the rooms, as they haven't managed to find me an apartment so far

Coromandel is close, true, but I guess same price as rain tree.
We'll see.

If you don't mind the journey, the Savera has a good pool and gym. It is next door to the New Woodland in Mylapore.

Never mind.... you can console yourself with the thought that you must be next-door to somewhere posh!

Sheraton Towers (I think it is called) is not too far, either: other side of Gemini Flyover in Cathedral Road.

... on the way to Savera
