sufi concerts in chennai

Hi

I've always heard chennai is a very musical and cultural city so its wonderful to be here !
read online that abida parveen's going to be performing in about a week's time so thats super news ...

does anyone know where music concerts and dance performances are held on a regular basis ?

any group regularly going for such stuff or any websites detailing such events ?

The vast majority of the frequent music concerts here are Carnatic, South Indian classical. There's a concert, sometimes several, most days, a good choice many weekends, and a massive overdose during the December/January season.

Even Hindustani music would be relatively rare; sufi music might happen as part of some occasional special event. Details of the "Novemberfest" event, including both Abida Parveen and Osibisa can be found -->here

You can look in The Hindu newspaper, p.4, every day, for the day's concert listings.

Find out more by searching this site for words like carnatic, chennai season, and so on. Also see www.rasiksa.org and www.kutcheribuzz.com, to name but a few...
