soda water and beer
hi !
I am looking for a good shop in or close to Egmore specialized in soda water, soft drinks, and beer, any reccomendations ?  |

Soft drinks are available in any shop, even the tiniest. You won't even get ripped off as a stranger to the city, because they are all marked with the Manufacturer's Recommended Price (Hotels may get away with ignoring this, but don't let shops even think about it!)
Beer and other alocoholic drinks are only available from either hotel bars or seedy 'TASMAC' government-owned 'wine shops'. Sorry: you've come to a state which is ever toying with imposing prohibition. Otherwise, the nearest such shop will be in Pondicherry --- maybe 150Km away. Would make a nice weekend trip; can be done in a day.
