Prepaid taxi to Anna Salai

Ola may be cheaper than the black and yellow cabs: they may be cheaper than Fastrack (do they still exist there?) and the other one, Airport Express, or something, is the most expensive and had only larger cars. Might come close to the hotel-car cost.

I suggest not worrying too much about it!

Worry about this... There are two Raintree Hotels. Stress that you want the one in Anna Salai!

Hi,

I took a pre paid taxi from the airport to a Royapetta hotel in October 2017, which is a further distance than the Raintree from the airport.

I was charged Rs.450, and gave a Rs.50 tip. The "funny" thing was that the "pre pay" receipt was dated the day before, and had someone else's name on it...

Nice to see paper being so efficiently recycled...

There is a foreign exchange desk near the exit doors of the airport, just change the minimum you need as the rate is nasty, as one would expect.

I think Anna Salai means "Market Street" ?

Have a good trip!

Ed.

P.S. Just a thought... If you are on an e-visa, you need to be in a separate queue/line at immigration, which is on the far left side of the immigration hall...

Yes. FastTrack pre-paid taxi counter still exists in both Domestic and International Terminals.

Oops! I saw an "Anna Salai" roadsign which said "Formerly Market Street" and assumed that the translation from the English language was Anna Salai...

Apologies to Mr Annadurai.
