| Postage costs from Chennai to UK Does anyone know how much it costs to send cards and packages to the UK? I have been told 800 rupees for one envelope in normal post and 1000 rupees by courier?? That seems extortionate? Thanks Pooja |

| I dont think so, by the way if it is greetings, then it must be very light weight, confirm with POST OFFICE, dont go to PRIVATE COURIER OFFICES. Calculate postage cost here http://www.indiapost.gov.in/Netscape...alculator.html I calculated and found it to be Country GREAT BRITAIN Item Letter Weight 40 gms. Postage Rs.28.00 Air Surcharge Rs.10.00 Total Rs.38.00 |

| Maybe you were asking the price for speedpost which might be about right. I seldom remember how much things cost (it's a protection mechanism that goes with extravagance  ) but rsk's prices sound about right, and I don't feel that sending, eg, christmas cards, has ever made us feel on the verge of bankruptcy! |
