I guess you forgot the most interesting part about the Park Chennai.....THE LEATHER BAR.....

...also dude this I think is a forum for ppl who dont really wanna stay in outrageously expensive swank hotels but rather people who would spend the money on experiencing the country and not the swank 5 star deluxe hotels......jus a suggestion no offense...

"The Leather Bar" probably has a different meaning in San Francisco than it does in Chennai; please, tell me what that one is like!

This is a forum for anyone interested in India, no matter what budget, If I won the Lottery tomorrow I would still post here, though perhaps from an internet cafe in Chennai after checking out the leather bar.

Been to the leather bar at Park, very dark and plenty of teeny boppers about. They close early too or it probably turns into a nightclub ?

Hi All,
Before your imagintion runs wild let me tell you what the Leather Bar is....its not some sleazy porn joint as I assume is what you guys thought...forgive me if I'm wrong...but all the winking and blushing got me thinking on those lines..

Chennai happens to be the herat of the leather trade in south india and therefore when The Park hotel opened up in chennai they decided to have a pub/bar with a completely letaher theme to it....so the leather bar has everything from the floor to the walls to the chairs to the coasters made out of leather...and it plays some excellent lounge music......so there you have it...the leather bar is no more a mystery...it used to be my favorite hangout spot for a drink for as long as I was in chennai....

..but its a little on the expensive side though....a beer might set you back by 150-180 Rs..

Looking for some tips on eating, drinking and hanging out in Chennai....

I will be in Chennai for a few day from this wednesday. I read in LP guide that bars/night clubs come and go faster than strobe lights. So does anyone has any update on what is good these days.
