Meditation in Chennai

Are there any meditation rooms in Chennai?

Not religious chanting, singing hymns, or places with pranayama
just
quiet, clean, silent, cool (temperature) spaces where people come to meditate.

If you've been to the Inner Chamber of the MMandir in A'ville, you know what I mean.

I'm a novice and I've not meditated in almost a year. I still need a designated space where I am comfortable enough to deeply meditate. I cannot do it in my house as it just does not feel right. It feels it's too dirty, too noisy, too something. IOW there is no sacredness in my living space. Within a few weeks or months I'll be back in my zone and I will be able to meditate in nature, perhaps the beach, and I certainly won't talk about the space unless someone specifically asks for a space to meditate.

If anybody feels the same and has found someplace, I'd much appreciate the location. You could drop me a PM if you don't want to post here.

Thx!

I found that the Ramakrishna Mutt was a great place to meditate (for me). also try the Theosophical Society in Adyar.

The Theosophical Society Gardens are huge, and a wonderful place to find peace and quiet. They are open to all, but the opening hours are a bit odd.

Use of other facilities on the site may require membership --- but that might be good anyway, if you are at all interested in the various events and lectures that they put on, or in the use of their library.

yes, I found that just sitting on a bench somewhere on the TS grounds was conducive to meditation....

there is also a Buddhist temple in Chennai (don't have info at hand right now! will look later!) that I plan on going to every day for my meditation.
