Mahabhalipuram resort weekend

Hi everybody,
I would like to know if there is someone who is going to spend his/her next weekend(26-th, 27-th, or basically any other next weekend) at one of the resorts near Mahabhalipuram. I was to Ideal beach resort and believe it is one of the best available around.
So if there is someone who is going there - we could go together. The resort provides nice beach with cover and chairs/table and have a pool. Entry fee is 200rs each person. Also they have beer on menu.

Can someone suggest me how far is MAHABALIPURAM from CHENNAI, how much time will it take, by bus, bike etc.

You can always use google maps to get the distance. There is a special bus service for tourists. By bike it takes ~45 mins to get there, depends on traffic.

By bus and off the top of my head, Chennai-Mahabs should be around two hours.

You can take a bus from Koyambedu or Adyar bus stand (including A/C Volvo). In less than 2 hr. you will be at the place.

Hey, we are off to GRT temple bay next weekend. Have any of you had a dinner set up by the beach? Do they encourage such requests?
