Looking for a wonderful guest house in Pondicherry

Hey there fellow Chennaians!!!

Can anyone offer up some nice places to stay in Pondi?
Some teachers and I want to go for a long weekend but we would like some ideas on where to stay.

Hello:

I stayed at Ginger Hotel (a cheaper incarnation of Taj hotels run by Tata) in Puducherry last month (August). It was clean and comfortable. A single room cost Rs 1000 and a double room (with two twin sized beds) cost Rs 1500 per night.

If you're looking for something a little historic then try Hotel Duplex which is an old French Colonial House - not sure of prices - you'll need to look it up on the web.
