Hello Friends,

Kindly do help me with local travelling directions in Chennai, so that newbies like me wont have problem in travelling locally.

Which is nearest bus stop / Railway station at walkable distance from Marina Beach? I think it might be chennai beach station, but not sure, someone please clarify.


Which is nearest bus stop / Railway station at walkable distance from Parrys corner (the market ./ shops)?

If you could tell me the nearest bus stop / railway station, then I can manage on my own, as my two wheller is not yet registered in chenani, I am afraid to go on two wheller as Chennai cops might harass and exploit money from me

Hi RSK,

The nearest bus stop from Marina beach is at Kannagi Statue opposite Presidency College. You would find a bus stop every 200 Metres on the beach road on either side.

If you would like to go to Parry's side, board the bus going towards North opposite the beach and if you would like to go to Mylapore, Santhome, Adayar side, board the bus going towards South from the beach side itself.

If you want to board the MRT, then cross the road from Kannagi Statue and take the lane next to the playground and you would reach Tiruvallikenni Station. You can go up to Beach Station on the North and up to Tidel Park on the southern side. May be up to Velachery.

What Kind of Shops are you looking at in Parry's Corner area ? Where do you reside ?

Marina Beach is a long stretch and there are a number of bus-stops / stations along this stretch.

Thank you SIr, I live in chrompet, and I will need trains from Tamabaram to Beach, I think Tiruvallikenni must be on some other route, and not on beach - tambaram route, coz after park there is fort n beach,

I want to buy a Power Drill ;-)

Well Chennai beach station is not Close to Beach. You can change train at Park and get on the Beach-Velachery line and get down either at Chepauk or Lighthouse.

For Parry's corner you can get down at Chennai bech or Park Station and easily get a bus. You sould look at the link mtcbus.org for direct buses from your place. There is a link for Stage - wise searc.
