For the best vegetarian chinese food in Chennai, try Flowerdrum. I am struggling to remember the exact location, but if anyone has any ideas, it's on the top floor of a slightly run-down shopping mall up near the Chennai Museum?? Their dim sum is awesome!

I can highly recommend 'Something Fishy'. It is on the roof of the hotel 'Inn Chennai' on Mount Road (Close to Gemini flyover and next to the Mercedes Benz showroom).
The restaurant serves delicious fish (as the name suggests ), but for vegetarians there is also plenty of yummy stuff. The staff is really helpful and friendly and they will do anything to prepare the food according to your wishes. The owners are a couple: The woman was the first female chef for Taj and the man was the personal chef of a sheik of Dubai. And best of all: they have chocolate mousse to die for as dessert Only open for dinner unfortunately... |

just returned from dinner (& under the table beer) at Kebab court on ECR (opposite Prarthana Drive-in)
Fairly decent Avadhi cuisine (think kakori/shami kebabs and Mutton Rogan Josh) Coming to think of it, Chennai seriously lacks Avadhi cuisine joints I have feasted on better Avadhi (Lucknow) food in New Jersey than in Chennai ![]() |

Not sure if someone has mentioned this before in this thread - The New Yorkers, in Gemini Circle, is a good, less expensive & small place for pure Veggie + mexican food. It may not be authentic mexican but good enough for a try!

The Cholayil Sanjeevanam in Chennai is a unique experience.A must try atleast once for everyone. Mind you, it is a health conscious restaurant dont expect a treat for your tongue here. and all you dieters NO NO this is not a reduce-belly-fat-in-10-days way of eating, its just a balanced diet.
