Hotels in Mamallapuram (Mahaballipuram)

Does anybody know of any nice hotels in Mamallapuram in the 1000 to 2500 rupee range. I looked at Ideal Resort and that place looks beautiful, but was just wondering, in case it's full, if there any others in that price range.

thanks

I was actually going to suggest the same. I studied for a few months at a Norwegian study center in Pondicherry, and my fellow students used to go to Mahabalipuram and stay at the Sea Breeze in the weekends to enjoy their pool. (I always stayed at the cheaper places.. ) It's a bit under your budget, but from what I've heard it should be wort a try.

That sounds good. I'll see if I can find some pics of it.

I just don't want to have to take extra bedding with me. Recent experiences have caused me reassess my budget. Hey, I draw the line at a Taj

thanks a lot!

No, I usually stay at the cheaper places. But Mahabalipuram is cheap, you get really good value for your money.

Hi Infinity. Have you ever stayed at the Golden Sun? I have been trying to book with them and never get a response. Any suggestion?

Hi Lonely Aztec. Can you help with my decision about the Golden Sun or the Sea Breeze Hotel? The Golden Sun never returns emails, but it does seem to be in a good location. The Ideal is all booked.

I am particularly interestd in a very clean room that is not noisy.

Spent some time at the GRT Temple Bay Hotel on the way into Mamallapuram on Saturday. I can defintely recommend this hotel as a peaceful place to stay. A typical 5 star beach resort.

Ideal is still the best, but it's often full and rates have gone up
