Hotel Sindoori Chennai
Hi,
I have searched the hotel section for Chennai on this site but could not find anything. Has anyone stayed at the Sindoori hotel? Your impressions please. also, do you have a website/e-m address? The google search comes up with a weird w/site and a gazillion of redirected sites. Thanks! Last edited by machadinha : Jan 3rd, 2007 at 18:16. Reason: moved to chennai forum |

Sindoori now called Royal Majestic Hotel
Queenkaji:
I have never been to the Sindoori myself, (As I too am looking for places to stay for myself and my wife in January)--However, it appears that the Sindoori is now under a new name; The Royal Regency Hotel Formerly Sindoori http://www.indiatravelite.com/accomm...lchennai.ht m Good Luck and let me know if you find a good reasonably priced hotel. Larry,
thansk for the link. I will try it. What is reasonable for you? Last time I was in Chennai we stayed at the Ambica Empire. It was around USD70 per night, but then we were staying only a few days... I have also checked out Hotel Shelter. Looks pretty reasonable, and if the Sindoori does not work out we will probably end up at Shelter. |

is this Sindoori pretty close to the train station? If it is then it's probably the one I stayed at. Rooms were fine, nothing to write home about.

Reasonable for us (My wife and I) would be $50-$60 we are planning to be in Chennai 11 january - 15 January and Hotel Shelter was full, Pandian had availablity, as did Breeze, Beverly, and Shan Royal - but I am not sure which would be best. also I have come across good reviews of the New Victoria. Feedback on an of these would be most welcome from IM folks especially those that know Chennai. Larry |

queenkaji: How was Ambica Empire? We are considering staying there just for one night and would love to hear if your experience staying there was ok. Thanks for the advice.

Try New Woodlands Hotel -- It's centrally located and decently priced.
