Hotel in Chennai, with western food....
Hi there,
We've arriving in 2 weeks, and will spend a couple of nights in Chennai. We're looking for a mid-range hotel that is fairly central and that does western food. We want to make the first few days easy for our kids... Any recommendations much appreciated! 4gotoindia |

most hotels have "multi-cuisine" restaurants which serve western food. however, in order to explore the city and enjoy the sights and sounds, i would suggest a Bed and breakfast plan at the hotel. and the rest of the meals outside.
A good decent hotel - in the center of chennai is New Woodlands. However, there are quite a few hotels that spread across the range of budgets. there are lots of links available through the forum.

mid-range...
we were thinking some like New Woodlands, but are not sure about their restaurant. (Think it is only Indian veggie). So we wanted something similar to that, but with Western restaurant.
(Normally this would not be an issue for us, but with 2 small children we want to take things v gently for the first few days at least). Gametotravel - which hotel is this? I can only find lots of restaurants on that website! thanks for any ideas, Mrs4 |

Hotel doesn't have to be veg... just western. I suppose part of the question is whether we have to go up a step to more expensive?
Thanks, mrs4 |

oriental inn???
Well, I went to the website that Gametotravel mentioned, but there is no information about the hotel (in the sense of prices etc) at all. And the 'guestbook' is a fake - unless Chennai has grown some mountains for hiking through since I was last there!

It may grow horns too! (just a joke)
You have the website, email id and phone numbers; why not enquire and see if it is affordable. This is also close to Woodlands Hotel so can be used for food, supper, dinner ,whatever. |
