Guest houses in Chennai

Hello - it will be my first time in chennai (and India for that matter) - I have two nights and would like to stay at a guest house or home stay. Has anyone every stayed here? Thanks, Deanna

It looks nice, but then places always do on their own websites! Did you find any independent reviews on the net?

The area is very convenient for the airport, but not so convenient for the city itself.

I used to stay at Ram Guest House or New Woodlands Hotel.

I did not stay there but I DID speak with the owner about staying there. He was very nice and very helpful and the reviews on Tripadvisor are very good....

you might try this place -- I stayed there for almost a month earlier this year. The owner is very hospitable and it's in a great area.

The place Sama stayed is pleasant, in a very good area, and very central. I'd add my vote to that one!

I would live in that area in a heartbeat, Nick! so convenient to things you need like ATM, food stores, etc. and only a 20 min. walk to the heart of Mylapore....
