Furniture/Piano rental

Hi,

I'm moving to Chennai in June with my husband (Penri). The house we will be renting is part-furnished and we were wondering if anyone knows of anywhere we can rent furniture/appliances.

I am also a keen pianist and was wondering if the music shops in Chennai rent out pianos.

Would be really grateful for any information.

Almost any city will have a furniture to let place.Pianos I haven't heard of. Delhi.?

you could start asking at musee musical mount road, chennai for pianos. Its the biggest music instrument shop in chennai anyway.
if they dont have pianos for hire, they will be able to tell you where.

I am sure they should be available. They are available in most Indian metros.

Anyone in Chennai able to advise on where I can rent furniture from? I've secured the house and will be spending this weekend sorting out the furniture.

Mrs N says you can. She suggests looking in the Free Ads paper.

I don't know about the piano, but I would suggest the two music shops on Royapettah High Road near Luz corner. The bigger one has a whole floor of Western music stuff.

Traditional? or electronic? I don't know how acoustics pianos stay in tune in this climate.

Speaking of which, how are you finding it so far?

I'm cheating a bit. Have limited myself to a/c'd hotel > a/c'd car > a/c'd office and back again each day. The most adventurous I've been is an accompanied viewing of potential properties on Tuesday and asking the driver to stop at a local shop on the way back to the hotel on Wednesday

So, this weekend is my true baptism to India
