Thats difficult to answer. some may spend only 50 and there are people who show extravagance and even end up burning(crackers) worth more than Rs.50,000.

But whats the exact motive behind this query just for info or want to plan for this Diwali.

Crackers these days are quite expensive. Crackers worth Rs 500 will not last more than half an hour. So it depends upon the duration you want to light crackers... Rs 5000 and above will get you a decent stock of crackers !!!

Fireworks in general, I love, despite the mess, the noise, the polution, etc, that they cause.

Crackers, specifically, are just noise pollution and mess

Forgot to mention... we used to celebrate diwali with a bunch of friends/cousins (8-10)... and so Rs 250 per kid went long ways...

It is more fun to have a group for fireworks, as there is more fireworks for less money per person, and if you get tired of lighting them and running away, someone else will gladly do it for you.

Well thats a relative question and depends on various factors!!

WE used to spend around 3-4k's on Crackers when me and my brother were young. That was around 10 years back.

Now I am 19 and my bro is 22 and we know the ill effects of Crackers and at max we just buy crackers worth Rs 50 and that too for Shagun (Auspicious reasons )
