Current Weather in Chennai / 27th october
I heard of flooded roads and cancelled flights. Could anyone tell me what's the current weather situation in Chennai?

yes !
I live in chennai ! i havent seen this much rains in the last 9 years......we have had almost 30mm of rain n the last 2 days . thats huge bcoz chennai is not actually geared for this much rain. we have barely had any rain in the last 4 years that all storm drains are clogged ! lot of waterlogging , power supply cuts , trains cancelled , electric trains which commute within city and suburbs are cancelled and runaway is flooded! But chennai is robust , i'm sure in 2 days everything wud be fine ! by 29th it shoudl be all ok , if there are no rains after today night , 27th night ! bcoz the ground is basically dry , most water will go in once it stops raining ... i would like to add
things are bad , but not too grim ... the government is well prepared and working in full gear , there is army in the stand for an ' emergency'.....the situation is defi not as bad as it was in mumbai a few months ago .. |
