coat hangers, wire shelves
coat hangers, wire shelves
hello,
arrived in Chennai on Monday, got an apartment on Friday.
most of our stuff is in slow boat transit, but trying to find a few things for our flat. first off--wire coat hangers. the plastic ones are ridiculously expensive! (I of course told my wife not to pack any, by volume too bulky! I stand corrected on that one). secondly, wire shleving units (bathroom, bedroom). and thirdly, metal laundry racks. we are living in Kilpauk but don't mind traveling to find the stuff. I may be a bit slow in responding, as the internet shops nearby seem to be hit or miss in terms of operation. thanks for the help!

Now you come to mention it... I don't recall seeing wire coat hangers!
You are not far away from Parry's (Chennai people pronounce it Paris) where you can get all sorts of hardware, kitchenware and stuff. Depending on your shopping preferences, you will either find the place congested and maddening, or magic. I love it. There is one big kitchenware/household shop, on two floors, which I think is near the corner of Rasappa Street. You should be able to get a drying rack there.
There is also Currumbhoys (problem sp wrong) in that area you could have a look round.

No doubt you are aware already that you are not far from Spencer Plaza for a big shopping Mall. Anna Nagar has lots of shops too, and some posh ones, but I don't shop there so can't say.
