Hello,

I will be reaching Chennai in December around 10.30 PM. I need to catch a train next day at 7.15 AM to Bangalore from Chennai Central station.

1. How do I travel from Chennai Airport to Central Station? Any Train service at Airport? If not Taxi? Estimated cost?
2. Any budget accommodation near Chennai Central Railway Station?

Hi White Horse.

YOu may take a pre paid taxi from inside the aiport ( near the arrival terminal. You can take the black taxi ( Non AC ) operated by the government or cabs by private operators. Aviation Express is good.

The cost would be approximately 350 for Non Ac and about 450 for AC. Tips about 20 Rs to the driver.

Dont take the risk of boarding the electric train at that time of the night, though the station is just opposite the airport and the destination station is Park Station.

There are many budget hotels opposite the Moore Market Complex ( located next to Central ) and should not be a problem. Tell the cab guy and he would take you.
