18k! Sheesh, it'd better be a better than the marketing speak on that web page!

But then, all those pages are written in that kind of tosh.

Buena Vista Beach Resort is a haven of corporate tranquil, nurtured in tropical paradise. Here, amidst elegant villas and landscaped acreage, you are introduced to the Good Life at Chennai.
And it only gets worse! Pass me that bucket please!

But this is five-star pricing, and I've never heard of it. What's it like in real language, Mindgames?

BTW... there's a place in Palavakkam that I drive past sometimes called Green Something, got a Kerala look to it and a Malayalee restaurant... anyone know it? Any good? No private beach, though, alhough it would be only five minutes walk down the road.

18k I guess is the file size but the charges would definitely be in the region of GRT Temple Bay Mahabalipuram maybe a little less.

Pallavakam; Nick-H is reffering to is Green Meadows .A smaller Resort but definitely good with a good kitchen.www.greenmeadowsresort.com/ -

There is Casurina Bay Resort after Fisherman's Cove which is also big secluded and mid range.

Then on the non beach side of the road in the same stretch is the Ranch where they have horse riding . Here I think they have a few rooms . Recommended for those who like Equestrian and nothing else. Not able to get their link though.

My favourite is TTDC Beach Resort located before Ideal B.R.;they have the best property with most of the cottages facing the sea.Though being Govt run a bit tardy. They have most of the facilities like swimming pool, Bar, Restaurant Indian and Chinese but my advice would be to take your lunch and dinner in other recommended places and use this place for total relaxation.

Sea Breeze in Mahabalipuram will also fall in the budget.
wikitravel.org/en/Mamallapuram though this place was damaged during Tsunami(the non permanent structures).

Green Meadows... yes. Is it worth going there for a meal? We could almost walk it from our place on the unposh side of Palavakkam.

If possible call them up first as I read a long back that some famous chef from Pondicherry was working there.

You could definitely taste some good Christian Malayalee food.

Is there a map that shows these resorts? Would help to get an idea of relative distances.
