Chennai: Paying guest accommodation needed (Female)

Hello friends,

One of my female friends wants to move to Chennai from New Delhi as she has a job offer there. She is looking for a paying guest accommodation in or around Teynampet,Chennai. She would prefer a family who can lend a room(not the congested PGs/Girl Hostels. The place should be in a good locality and safe .

She is a little jittery at the prospect of coming to a new city and heard some bad rumors floating about Chennai. How is the place Teynampet for working woman. Is language really that big a issue ? She can speak fluent English and Hindi .

Thanks in advance ,

Tenampet is central, and parts of it are good residential areas.

If she is moving to Chennai from Delhi, she need not be jittery, in my opinion. Chennai is easier to negotiate for single women.

Language, and the culture is different, but the language is not a huge issue. Can well manage with broken English and even Hindi, sometimes.

Teynampet is a good area, I work there also, and although I am neither single or female, I cant see any reason for your friend to be worried about moving from a language or safety point of view.

Language is an issue sometimes, but I dont speak tamil or hindi and I usually manage to make myself understood.

As for finding a place to stay, I suggest googling for paying guest accomodation in Channai, or perhaps her prospective employer can help find a place
