Chennai Hotels Informative Guide
Hi friends, from the past one week i have received many requests from my friends, acquaintances to me to arrange call taxi, hotels as they come on visit and dont know tamil which seems the biggest problem. I already have contact nos of some good taxi providers but hotels I am not aware. Hence would request members to post some good hotel details anywhere in chennai, preferably for backpackers to refresh and go on. Along with rates
For executives / VIP guests. we book one service apartment / guest house named laurels , they charge around 2800 per room. Rooms are like 3/5 star hotel and they also have a cook to make food.
their website is
http://www.thelaurels.co.in/
I need some hotels where you can just check in and be fresh and then check out so budget range. , as some guests are coming who want to go sightseeing and need some time to just freshen up themselves in Chennai.

Ravi ....
Hotel Pearl International was acceptable at 1300. The Royal Regency seems to be 2000, I had lunch there twice, but the last time was ruined by finding plastic in the ice cream. The Park at 5-6000 is great.

this is exactly where our service industry falters...i recall once in olive garden in usa, i chose a dish, but found it too bland and left a large portion on the plate. the manager came around and asked everyone if food was good (usual formality) & we all nodded yes (usual formality). then she noted my plate & asked if i did not like the dish & i said it was too bland. she insisted that it be taken off the bill, despite my saying it was not needed, as she thought if i did not enjoy it, i should not have to pay. i would not even dare to dream of such an experience even in a 5-star place in india...
i have to appreciate you to stand your ground and fight for your right. kudos!
