chennai early january 2011- any music festival?

I fly into Chennai after being in the andamans on the 2nd January 2011. Will chennai's music festival still be on then?

I'm travelling from Australia to Chennai in mid December and planning to spend a bit of time in the city experiencing the Carnatic music festival before I travel elsewhere- could you give me any pointers for information on the festival and how to go about finding concerts/buying tickets etc?

Every morning, buy The Hindu newspaper, and peruse the concert listings on page 4 as you eat your breakfast

There will be online listings sites, but, as yet, I'm not aware of anything that has sprung into action for this year.

Hi, I was wondering if any chennai-ites know of the specific dates for this year's carnatic music festival...

I'll be in the south generally from december 9 until january 18, although I imagine Tamil nadu will be the locale for the second half of that time, because of Pongal attractions and my jan 18 flight leaving Trichy. If someone could supply these and any other awesome festival dates that might help me to decide how much time to spend in Tamil Nadu (vs Keral and Karantaka)
