Hi,
How do I get to Kodambakkam from Chennai Central? Will I get a train from Chennai Central itself, or do I have to go to another station? If there is one from Chennai Central, which route no/ name is it? If not which station do I go to? Thanks
Nordy

You need to cross over [walk thru subway] to another station called Park Town. There you will get trains towards Kodambakkam every 10 mins.

There are three dintinct routes in Chennai and they all meet "near" Chennai central. So you need to walk over to the other station.

nordy: I don't think there is a suburban train from Chennai Central to Kodambakkam. You will have to go to Egmore to catch a suburban train to get to your destination.

Folks,

There is a Suburban railway station near Central Station which is Park station. (Walkable, Take the Subway to cross the road opposite Central and then ask anyone for Park station)

From Park Station, your train will cross the following stations.

1. Egmore
2. Chetpet
3. Nungambakkam

4th Station is Kodambakkam. The train will take 2.3 minutes to 2.5 minutes to cross between each stations, although the train will take less time between nungambakkam and kodambakkam as the disctance between them is the shortest.

NOTE: The Local will stop only for 20 seconds in the station.

There are two Park stations. One is New and it will come exactly left side on the bridge opposite to central station. Trains from there MRTS trains and will not go to kodambakkam.

You got to cross the road and walk a little on the P H road (Poonamalee High road) and then take a left and you will see so many people walking up and down to the station.

Go to the counter and get a ticket, Take the overhead bridge and get into the station. You should take the train which goes to tambaram and not to Beach station.

With Warm Regards
