Bored in Chennai

Hi Ppl,

Just getting quite bored in Chennai. It would be great if somebody could suggest something fun - Music festivals/bowling/football etc. Something to take the monotony out of my life in Chennai!

I don't know what you're into, but I also get a little bored here in Hyderabad so I'm planning on buying or stealing a monkey. I figure a monkey in my flat -- preferably a real mean little bastard -- would keep the evenings interesting.

Yeah, that wasn't helpful at all. Sorry.

you can borrow one of the ones from our roof - but wouldn't recommend the dominant male (he's large and angry) - sneaky too (they know how to duck).

two of the security guards on our road were chased by about 20 monkeys (oh yes.....they don't lack for aggressiveness)! What with them and the 2 ton bull that lives on the street there are no dull moments when it comes to the animal life.

Unfortunately with the monkeys it means we can't use our roof space - but I have a cunning plan! (it involves insulating rods, a portable charger, and about 200 meters of bright orange electrified tape).......

re bored in bangalore (or Hyderabad) presumably there must be a pub or two around?

'interesting' yes, to say the least! You get credit for thinking outside the box.

So THAT'S where he's moved to! Tell him, I better not see him around here again.

Save yourself the trouble, dress up in a langur suit instead. They're scared of langurs.

YOU tell him! What did you do to him to make him so cranky?

just my luck - an over excite male langur would probably be in the area at the same time (and that's one attachment I don't need).

I was thinking more along the lines of a blow up tiger? Complete with motion sensor activated roar (you knew I was going to bring technology into this somehow)

I didn't do anything, he was like that already. Tell him I've got it in for him for abducting (and most probably murdering) my kitten.

Did I say anything about the gender of the langur suit? What stops you from getting a male langur suit?
Then again, that langur who wud probably be in the area might also turn out to be the only homosexual one in the entire country.

Believe it or not, in one of the private tourist camps around Bandhavgarh National Park, the way they chase off langurs is - one of the staff comes out with the head-and-shoulders of a stuffed leopard and sort of masquerades with it, pretending to be a leopard. It actually works!

Adit,
Look at the Hindu newspaper supplements, a lot of info is available there. There is a bowling alley in Nungambakkam, its called Snow Bowling point. There are also many snooker joints, I know one in Nungambakkam and another in Alwarpet. A lot of cultural activities take place at Alliance Francaise which is at College road, Nungambakkam.

Hi Radjesh,

I have been to Alliance Francaise and yes they play some good movies. I guess my main complaint was trying to fun people for company.

Thanks for the help though
