apollo hosptial chennai - new name royal bengal hospital

I had to go to apollo hospital chennai in greames road for half a day - I was kind of surprised to see the hospital full of people from the east especially people from bengal
can understand they coming down for some serious medical stuff - they had come down for quite routine operations like hernia etc
Even the sign boards in apollo have bengali written - there were benagali books in the bookshop
nearly all the staff there speaks hindi with a bengali accent

And Calcutta has a huge apollo hosptial
So i would like to know why the people from the east come down south soooo far for medical care - with some good hospitals in calcutta quite dont understand the logic
around 10 years back i was told that east india had very poor medical care but now there are supposed to be great hopsitals there

moreover apollo is a place where the local people of madras dont really prefer as it is a expensive commercialised place

anyway i hope none of u have to visit a hospital and wish u all the best of health
