any budget guesthouses just outside chennai

want to know if anybody knows of a cheap(300rs) place to stay just outside of chennai. has to be close to south chennai as i need to go to a bpo there most days but dont wanna stay in the city. was thinking of somewhere like covelong or muttukadu which are beaches just to the south of the city, that would be the best area for me. any suggestions?

This is hotel and resort land, rather than small guest house --- but maybe someone knows something.

Being coastal, it must have a beach --- but muttukadu is better known for its boating lake.

Where do have to travel? Even Mahabalipuram is not very far away.

The "proper" name for covelong is kovalam. That might help you in searches, but the problem then is distinguishing it from the far-better-known place of the same name in Kerala. I think it could be a promissing place to find somewhere --- although, on a quick visit, I did not find it particularly pleasant

Budget guest-houses (Rs 300-400) in Chennai (instead of outside) are rare too, aren't they? Nothing near the airport either...?
