Accommodation for two months in Chennai

Hi all,

I am going to stay in Chennai for December and January. What accomodation would you recommend for this time period? Hostel, Guest House or renting a small appartment?

My budget is 10-15.000 RS per month. If anyhow possible I would like to avoid staying in a hostel for that time, since I like having my own kitchen (but no MUST).

How big is the chance to rent a small appartment for two months? Very low, I assume?
Is there anybody in this forum who has contact to someone in Chennai who rents an appartment?
Even better would be, if somebody wants to do a flat share with me.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards
Stefan

I think there are short-term appartments available. I remember seeing something via Google, last time this came up. "Serviced apartments" would probably be much more than your budget.

You might get in at the lower end of New Woodlands Hotel, but a guest house would probably be a better deal. Ram Guest House, in Royapettah would be at the upper end of the budget for an AC room. Broad Lands, in Triplicane, would be at the lower end for a monk's cell with a fan.

Broad Lands is seriously good value, albeit basic. They do have a range of rooms from the cell-like to bigger rooms with bathrooms, and a couple of big rooms on the roof.

Hi Nick,

thanks for your input.
Broad Lands Lodge sounds really interesting, especially it is near the beach. Are there any fotos of the lodge existing. Didn't find any via Google.
I really consider to go there, if I do not find a flat share.

Thanks again,
Stefan
