Question 24hr check in/out

I see some guesthouses state 24hr check in/out. Any experience with this as we arrive Chennai 11.30pm and depart next night 9.30pm so that would only require a 1 night booking I think? Any suggestions for a clean ensuite room close to Central Station?

Depends on your hotel, but it's not uncommon to be able to arrange something for a half day. If you're staying at the budget end, a full day won't break your pocket either.

It works like that most anywhere I've been, not just in India (or at the budget end, anyway). Just speak to the manager or other personnel.

If a hotel is mentioning 24 hours check out time..you can just confirm the same and it does mean 24 hours...in your case it would be a day's rent only..

Other places will say 12 noon check out time..!!

that means that there is no set time to check in or check out. you can check in or out at any time. it does not mean that you have to stay 24 hours.
