Worlds Apart

Did anyone catch last night's episode in National Geographic channel? I think it is the coolest show on TV. They take a typical family from the US and take them to another family in a small village in some remote part of the world. The show is about how different life could be and yet how close your feelings are.

Last night's episode took a Jewish-American family from NY to a small village in Rajastan.

Re-airs today and Sunday.

Did you watch this in the US? That sounds like an interesting show but I have never heard of it. What is the name of it so I can look out for it. Do you know what time it comes on and which time zone?

NGC East Coast, I found this on the website:

Worlds Apart
Katonah, NY meets India

The Rappys, from the quaint town of Katonah, NY, leave the creature comforts of their suburban lifestyle to fully participate in the traditions and customs of a lost royal family of India. Floyd runs his own graphic design firm and Michele is an attorney. Along with their children (Arianna, 9 and Max, 6) and family friend Sidney Morris, they live with the Rathore family in their compound in the village of Rajliya. In the 1970s, the Indian government stripped Mahendra Rathore's family of most of their power, forcing them to make their living as farmers. Prem, Mahendra's wife, is a traditional Hindu woman and spends her days tending to the house and her children. With 115 to 125 degree temperatures, pit toilets and daily chores from 5 a.m. until late into the night, life as a member of the Rathore family is not easy for the Rappys. By day two, they feel about ready to call it quits, but then their trip takes an amazing turn that will impact them for a lifetime.

8 p.m. Monday : October 20, 2003
Also airs:
Tuesday, Oct 21, 12 a.m.
Sunday, Oct 26, 4 p.m.
