Where to go during summer?
From March to May, where is good and present place in india. I'd been Delhi, Varanasi and Culcutta during this season but it was unpresent because of hot weather. I don't want to have that experience again. Is there any nice present place to go during this season? Any place I can enjoy spring atmosphere in Himalaya? Thanks in advance..

Head for the Hills!
Especially April and May, the weather should be comfortable in any of the Himalayan hill stations.
From East to West here's a quick list - Darjeeling, Sikkim, Nanital, Almora, Ranikhet, Mussoorie, Shimla, Kullu- Manali, Dharamshala, and Dalhousie. If you don't like big towns there are also lots of smaller places to stay in. I suggest you check out the West Bengal, Uttaranchal/Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh sections of the forum for more information, and then post on places you're particularly interested in.

The main season for Ladakh would be June to September when the roads are open. Possible to fly in though in between March and May but many places would be closed and the nights could be a bit chilly.

Thanks all posters and sorry my poor English...
First, I'm thinking of going to north-east before monsoon is started. Does anyone know how is the present and further on weather of the north-east? After that, I'll chase hindu pilgrims to the source of Ganges such as Gangotri, Kedarnat, Yamunotri..in May. Then when monsoon come over, I'll go to Kashmir, leh and Zanskar. VvinD |

govind, no probs mate. All in good fun. By all means, chase all the hindu pilgrims
. Your plan is very good. With so much in hand. You should cover the entire Garhwal area you mentioned over a month or more. Then go by road to Ladakh by around August. Then go to Srinagar via Kargil. I think its safe now. Fly back from Srinagar as the winter would have started. Why do you wanna have a signature like this mate?. ![]() |
