Where to first? -land in July

hey there,

So im landing at the end of July in Mumbai.

Im really not too sure where I should start..

I am not too keen on hanging about in mumbai or Delhi for too long.

I like nature, and spirituality. I also wouldnt mind finding some place where there will be other tourists to talk to and play with, as i am travelling by myself.

I do also like the trance kinda culture back home in Oz.

I would idealy like to go to the South straight away, but that isnt ideal because of Monsoons? is that correct? Is that a possibilty at all? are there nice places to explore in the South during monsoon?
