weather is upside down and topsy turvy!
but seriously, the weather people here say this has been the hottest summer (i.e., 90+ F. for most number of days) since records started being kept!

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy, days of Summer
. A stationary high has brought 26c - 30c temps with an influx of humidity and hotted things up by quite a bit. Approaching almost drought like conditions throughout eastern Canada though. Locally, rain is needed soon - wild blueberry crops are getting very, very thirsty .....

The worsening drought here is a huge story and getting worse. NOAA, the parent agency of the US National Weather Service, has declared this the most expansive US drought situation since the 1950s. We need rain and I read that we would need 12" of rain to end the drought in Illinois. rained the other day and the amount was barely an inch.
the USDA, in its weekly crop progress report out yesterday, puts 56% of the Illinois corn crop is "poor" or "very poor" condition--the percentage in Indiana is 71%. The last thing farmers need with this economy is crop failures, which means more family farms going bankrupt.
the weird weather this year (70+ degrees in February, winter here) has made my gardens go bonkers. Flowers that normally bloom in the fall have bloomed already and are over for this year. Some flowers bud but the scorching weather has fried the buds so they won't flower at all.

Our recent heatwave combined with a small earthquake have caused a large number of courtyard tiles to explode!
This morning the temperature dipped to under thirty degrees and I felt cold.
Tonight, at almost 9 p.m. it is 27 degrees C (or 80 degrees F) which feels comfortable. It is the lowest temperature we have had in the past week.

@ arambol
in Goa Its hot over here ...weather seems to be opposite to monsoon.
I am in Munich, Germany. There were thunder storms for much of last night, but today is warm and sunny.
I am supposed to be in India now, but because of being bitten by the recession I am not. I wonder where I would be and what I would be saying about my weather right now, if economics had been different. I think, I would still be in either Mumbai or Delhi relaxing for the fist few days of the trip I had intended to take.

I can confirm this
The rain was monsoon-like. And when the rain set in after the heat I felt like being in India. In Marlborough Massachusetts where it got up to 92ish today...........hot hot hot. A large portion of the USA is suffering from a drought---the poor farmers ears of corn have not done well---its a hard summer here in the USA

Temperatures are holding in Crete at a steady average of 35 degrees C. We are getting used to sweating a lot. The summer visitors have already returned to rainy Paris and rainy London.
