| All is well now for me thanks everyone! My local old people's home and town centre is out of electricity though, so I'll probably be putting up a few fragile people in desperate need of a hot meal and a warm bed for the night. The solidarity is excellent, it's really quite comforting actually, everyone is calling the local radio to offer their services or to ask for help. Still over a million without power, so I was one of the lucky ones  |

| Temperature in Melbourne has been in the 40 degree centigrades for a few days, yesterday touched a very hot 44C, today is another 40C+. The night was very warm too. Hope it cools down soon, some suburbs lost electricity due to overload so far we have been lucky. Atleast I won't feel the heat in Bombay when I touch down on sunday. |

| dom, i was just about to say the same thing. i am in melbourne.we don't even have any air con so i am suffering. came down from queensland thinking it would be cooler down here, ha ha! |

| About 9F/-12C here, with a slight powdering of snow this morning and some blowing flurries. It's been very dry, though, so the snow is almost completely dessicated, and the cats are full of static electricity (which they don't like). You don't feel the cold for the first couple of minutes, but as you walk along it begins to go down into your lungs like a Dementor.  |

| Kalbarri, thank god for airconditioning, use it sparingly though. First time it has been so extremely hot for so many days, normally Melb cools down in a couple of days, this has been an exception tomorrow its 35C yeah. Wouldn't want to live in QLD only a short holiday |
