Theyyam - glad to hear some relief and no bush fires I presume? Your post about fires reminded me of where I used to live - the Blue Mountains in Australia. We had serious threats about 4 times in the years I was there - had everything filled up with water, buckets at the ready in case the water was turned off and used from the main street hydrants by the fire engines. And like you, on the alert all night when they were raging then.

Oh, Aishah, we have been on alert for the past two nights, but thanks all the Gods and Goddesses and mostly thanks to our patrols there has not been a problem. We suffer from very hot dry summers plus the meltemi wind. And of course there are many pyromaniacs out there. The firemen last night told us that a recent episode (a monastery near here was the scene of arson a couple of days ago) concerned a guy with a wooden leg who was so upset he couldn't become a fireman that he started a fire... no, I am not joking (unfortunately).
I have been to the Blue Mountains, by the way, and it is so beautiful there. Why did I think you were from New Zealand? |

Theyyam - glad all well, interesting tale re the arsonist.. yes, i do come from NZ but I lived a long while in Oz as well. We were in Wentworth Falls, below Leura if you can remember there. Katoomba of course is famous, Leura just down the hill from K.
Soooo..hot here! I even have the a/c on into the night.. they say rain is coming on Tuesday. It was meant to be today, but not a sign (on weather forecast on internet). Now we're supposed to have it on Tues. and Wed. a break on Thursday and even heavier rain on Friday, Sat. and Sun. We're all praying this will come about. It's hard work keeping the water up to the garden.. Lucky puchoo! I'm feeling really envious. |

I hope it moves in a westerly direction, Puchoo. Reminds me of my roof up in Landour - I was always thought it was hailing too because of the noise, but no, just heavy downpours.
Too hot out here today... |

Absolutely pleasant in Hyd today. Overcast and cool. Will rain hard later, I suppose, but right now I'm working on the balcony and enjoying the day.
