I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, well seems to be anyway. Those in the UK may think it would be nice to be in Delhi to get a little heat, whilst those in Delhi would think it would great to have a little rain and a cooler climate. Personally I am very lucky as I live in an area that never really gets too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter . Mind you I will be in Delhi in two days so will not doubt be moaning about the heat , but as Delhi is for me on the way to Kashmir I'm sure I'll manage !

Raining cats & dogs at Mysore for the last one week and the weatherman says if this trend continues the south west monsoon will fail . But it brought down the temperature and its real cool & pleasant Great time to visit mysore and bandipur/nagarahole sancturies.

ebby can you tell us more re the south west monsoon failing because it's raining now? It will be a disaster if this happens..

Aishah, this was a news item two or three days back in one of our local dailies which I happened to read. It read that the rains were likely to continue upto April 10 and in case it contiues for longer than that, the south west Monsoons may fail. The authencity/sanctity of the report or the reputation of the bureau is Questionable and these chaps predictions are known to fail, so dont read much into it.

I have 8 grafted mango trees in my house. For the first time in years none of them have flowered or fruited and this is the same in other localities in and around Mysore! Definetly some change in climatic conditions!

I am very sorry for your lack of mango crop.

According to my WeatherFox add-in, Chennai has thunder right now: but it is hot and sunny here. Changed fast yesterday afternoon; we'll see.

Well, i am back in Mauritania (west africa) where it is unseasonably hot, about 40 degrees and i can hardly face leaving the house during the day. Big sandstorms as well which they say is all wrong for this time of year.

Oh well, still an improvement on cold and damp Wales

We are having the same problem here in Karnataka , this year the mango crop is very low, I expect the price of mangoes will be higher this year due to low yield . I have a small house that is set in seven acres of mango plantation. This time last year the place was bursting with mangoes, unfortunately this year is not the same story. Just after all the mango trees were flowering this year there was a cooler spell when it was damp in the mornings, this caused a lot of the flowers to fall. But there are also many trees that do not seem to of flowered at all this year, I'm not sure what the reason for this is. I guess all the rain we have had in the south this year is not helping matters, but still there are some mangoes in the trees and I am salivating at the prospect of them being ready
