| what's so gay about 'dostana'? i have not seen the film - only seen news items about it being the first mainstream bollywood film with the male leads possibly playing gay characters! this is too shocking for words for me - having grown up on a steady diet of hindi films where the only depiction of gay men (never saw lesbians) was negative. has anyone seen it? could it be true? where i live there are no cinemas so there's no way i'll be seeing it in any hurry. ![]() |

| Hi - If you're interested Raj And Pablo of the BBC's asian network did an interesting review: http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/lovebollywood/ It sounds like an interesting film - I usually agree with Raj & Pablo's review. I've seen way too many stinkers this year, so I'm gonna give this one a shot (hopefully) this weekend. Cheers! -C |

| Here's the thing.... | My friend told me it was pretty good, so I might just give this one a try myself. Haven't seen a hindi movie in almost 3 months now.

| it's far from being a great movie but it has a few good jokes & it is a big thing for india where homosexuality is illegal, i think it's easier for the 'general public' to get used to & accept certain different lifestyles if they learn about them through mainstream movies and tv the best part of the movie to me was when one of the 'fake' gay's conservative mum decides to accept his boyfriend & asks him to fast on karva chauth for the long life of her son ![]() |

| this is Brad. He's cute | He's not bad eh? Can't do those sort of films anymore. When will they learn that being gay isn't that interesting, it's just what we are? |
