Fabulous pumpkins, OT - you've a real talent there!
I'm happy right now because there are no pigs in my garden - tomorrow morning might be a different story however.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I loved the horse, it's really effective when lit.
On the interwebbythingy you can find loads of pumpkin templates, like this or this.
For the horse I got an image off the net, printed it out in black and white at the right size for the pumpkin, cut out the relevant bits of the paper template, overlaid it on the pumpkin and drew in the lines to cut on the pumpkin, scooped out the inside of the pumpkin, then got slicing.
I bought a cheap scapel like hobby knife (£4) and that really helps to get the lines well.
I've been asked to do a couple for this Friday (
) for a Guy Fawkes night we're having, one day late. I'm thinking of doing this skeleton design, but I might chicken out.

Great work OT - I'd post my carved gourd but it was a quick & dirty hack & slice job & thus 'frighteningly' bad ...

Do be a dear and lay off the SMS speak. Apart from other things (which I'm sure the mods shall point out in due course), some words (?) like coz remind me of algebra which I horribly hated in school...sine theta + coz theta = sine2 theta and all that sort of thing you know....always made me run in fright hither and theta.... what about the squaw on the hippopotamus?

LOL, Captain!
Kabarry - I wish these ones had wings, then I could shoo them out fast without all the pushing under the bougainevillea, and barging against the weakened wire and brush fence that they do! My nephews have fortified the barricades but I don't think a great job, so sitting here with one eye out the window!
Anyway, today we have plenty of water, so I'm happy as I'm soon going to water my new plantings.
