what to wear in india?

hello people,

im wondering whats the best to wear in india? and then im talking about the normal life on the street in the cities. is it normal wearing white clothes, or wearing a baseballhat and things ie that

are there good alternatives?

For the most part, any Indian woman you see wearing all white is a widow; almost everyone else wears colors.... lots of colors.

Have a look at some of the photos here on the forum, and you'll see a good spectrum of what the Indian people wear.

white will also get dirty very quickly - india is dusty! go for bright colours to blend in with the crowd. loose cotton or linen is best for the heat. clothes are cheaply and easily found over there, so just take some essentials - shorts (cropped trousers, or those long shorts that just cover the knee that boys wear are good if you're a girl), t shirts, underwear and a good pair of sandals.
