Wagah border

Any tips on visiting the border? We shall be staying in Amritsar and would like to see the 'retreat ceremony' (The guide book says 'go early to get a good seat')

Before well before 5 PM for best seats ... parade @ 5 PM

Yes get there early and head straight for the gate end. Or if you arrive late just plop down on the curbat the other end. The guards will shoo you away looking very serious and so you get up and when they move away you just sit down again. That's what the Indian's do anyway.

Haha, very well suggested NamasteIndia ! Get there around 1600/1630 hrs and grab a tea or something till the ceremony starts. I hv not been there for quite some time now but I think they even let you go meet Pakistani's and shake hands with them etc ;-) Can't say much man - these Pakistani's girls are sooo damn beautiful !
