Vaishno Devi where next??

Hi Everyone,

We are planning to go to Vaishno devi in the month of may.We are a group of 8 , 5 from b'ore 2 From Mumbai and 1 from Kerala.

I suggested that we go to Vaishno and then to Amritsar and then Wagah border , but few of my frends suggested that it is not advisable to go to Wagag in the month of may because of the heat.

but i dont wanna cut Wagag from the itinery.

Is there some other place you guys suggest from Vaishno Devi.

M open to all kinds of suggestions as our tickets are not yet booked,
Also i found out that the distance b/w Amritsar and Wagah is only 28 kms which is fair enough.

We are only planning on train travel.

Thanks
Ani

Thumbs up

http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/s...00/ppuser/4434 - Wagha.

Hi,
I am not sure why your friends are not recommending Wagha. Due to heat? Wagha border is half an hour journey (I didn’t find this 30 KM journey makes a very big geographical difference that you should avoid Wagha ) from Amritsar and you need not to stay there. So, if you can spend the day in Amritsar, you can easily visit Wagha. Plz, Don’t miss the opportunity.
You didn’t mention the time you can afford so it is tough to recommend other destinations from Vashno Devi (Katra). Anyway, if you want to spend a couple of days, I second Jyoti da. Patnitop will be a good choice. But if you are able to spend 4-5 days - plz, don’t miss Srinagar.

(BTW, Jammu is the last point where you can expect a train.)
