Jaanta, Pata, Maloom are all 'Hindustani' and mean "KNOW". I am not sure which is Urdu and which is Hindi? The literal meaning of Pata can be "Address" too.
Pata & Maloom are almost interchangeble in usage.
Example:
Do you KNOW? - Yes I know.
Kya tumhe pata he? - Haa, mujhe pata he.
Kya tumhe Maloom he? - Haa, mujhe maloom he.
Kya tum 'Jaante' ho? - Haa, Mein 'jaanta' hoo.

if you are an adult male, referring to another adult male as "bhaisaahb" is a nice thing to do. It means "brother-sir."

i had the same trouble at school with my hindi teacher - never knowing which words were hindi and which urdu. i guess growing up in a punjabi house, there was an overdose of urdu in the 'hindi' we spoke. i can barely follow the hindi news on tv, but i believe that's the case with most folk these days - rarely come across anyone speaking 'shudh' hindi.
today's word: shudh = pure/unadulterated

Sar dard- head ache; sar dukhta hai- have a head ache
pet mein dard-tummy ache
Thak jana- to be tired. main thak gaiee hoon or gaya hoon!

Mujhe aapse milke bahut khushee hooee- I am glad to have met you.

really, do what my aunt did when she got pestered by a rasta-chaap/street-type (this one happened to be a sardarji/sikh man) - she pulled him down from his cycle by gripping his pag/turban, took off her chappal/slipper, and proceeded to beat him into a kachumbar/chopped-up salad. the crowd that gathered rushed in to lend a helping hand (indian crowds love to join in on the mazaa/fun). her favourite words from that era:

bachao = help (ok, i made that one up, she was never the one to zor se chillao/scream loudly for help - on the contrary!)

meri tabeeyat theek nahi(n)* hai = i am not feeling well;
mai(n) beemar hoo(n) = i am sick;
